“Just the place for bikers”
Such a relaxing place after a day of riding in the Allegheny mountains. Front porch for lounging with a glass of wine and jacuzzis in every room for the hard working muscles, makes the beautiful ride across the Eastern Continental Divide totally worth it. (Great reward for a uphill ride.) The place has been renovated with lots of clever considerations which presents to the lodger much charm. Come off the trail and it’s downhill several blocks to Levi Deal Mansion. The guest kitchen provides liquid refreshment and snacks. In the morning a tasty breakfast is served before one must retrieve ones bike from the garage and get back on the trail.
“25th wedding anniversary”
My husband and I and a friend stayed the night here.... after riding the Allegheny path.....it just happened to be our 25th wedding anniversary. My husband called Levi Deal and they had flowers ordered for me and my friend had a cake ordered for us. They really went out of their way to help us celebrate ... I can't say enough good things about Levi Deal... if you are in the area I HIGHLY recommend Levi Deal. Thanks
The house is beautiful historic renovated home. The rooms are beautifully appointed and luxurious. The comfort and luxury of the beds ease away sore muscles after a day of biking the GAP trail. Jacuzzi and plush white robes in a spotless bathroom. The new owner, Deborah, welcomed us with wine and snacks. She prepared a gluten and lactose free delicious breakfast for me.
“A highlight of our GAP ride!”
As my partner and I were getting back on our bikes after lunch, the restaurant owner in Rockwood warned us that severe weather was predicted within a few hours. It wasn't going to be a camping night, so we decided to ride straight to a B&B in Meyersdale. As soon as we turned off the GAP trail and saw the Levi Deal Mansion, we knew we'd made the right call. With no reservation, we rang the doorbell and surprised the new owner as her first walk up guests. Deborah could not have been more flexible and welcoming! Within minutes, we had locked our bikes and gear in a secure garage and were enjoying excellent local craft beers on the front porch while we watched the storm approach. Deborah gave us the grand tour of the entire Mansion, including her own living space. Each room was a treat to see. Our post-storm, pre-dinner walk featured spectacular rainbows framing a line of giant windmills along the crest of the Eastern Continental Divide - a destination on the next day's ride. After a delicious breakfast, Deborah said goodbye with bags of freshly made granola for the trail. The ride from Pittsburgh to Washington is challenging and long enough to merit one splurge night. We're glad we took ours at the Levi Deal Mansion, and highly recommend it to other riders.
“Welcoming & Wonderfully Restored Historic B&B”
My daughter and I were in town for a long weekend visiting family and decided to stay at the Levi Deal Mansion. It was really a special treat. Having grown up in the area, I remember the mansion in less prosperous times. It's nice to see it restored to its former glory. The restoration and renovations are really something to be experienced. The place is quite grand, taking you back to a time when homes were crafted with exquiste detail that you just don't commonly see today. The furnishings and decor are beautiful and certainly worthy of such a beautiful, historic home. The rooms and bathrooms are also much more spacious than I expected. We had plenty of room to rest and relax. The new owner Deborah was a wonderful host...in fact, almost like another member of the family. I think my daughter would have stayed forever if I would have let her! Deborah is also a fabulous cook and someone who obviously has a passion for running a top notch property. We'll certainly stay again!
